Chemical peel in Durango
Controlled renewal of the skin. Prescribed well it improves spots, texture and acne; prescribed badly it leaves a mark.

What it is
It is the controlled application of a solution that renews the surface layers of the skin. As they shed, newer and more even skin is encouraged.
There are very superficial peels that barely flake, and deeper ones with days of recovery. The choice depends on what is being treated and on the type of skin.
What it is for
- Surface spots and marks left after an acne breakout.
- Mild to moderate active acne, as support.
- Uneven texture and enlarged pores.
- Dull skin.
Before and after
- Before: no recent tan; stop exfoliants and retinoids in the days beforehand, as instructed.
- During: stinging or warmth while it works; it is then neutralized and removed.
- After: there may be flaking for three to seven days depending on the depth. Do not peel the skin off.
- Strict sun protection. Without it, a peel can leave behind the very spot it came to remove.
Frequently asked questions
Is my face going to peel?
It depends on the depth. Superficial ones barely flake; medium ones do, and you are told beforehand so you can plan around it.
How many sessions?
Superficial peels are usually done as a series spaced out over weeks. The schedule is set at the assessment.
Does it work on brown skin?
Yes, choosing the right type and depth. On brown skin the risk of staining is higher, and that is why the approach is more conservative.
Can I do one at home?
Home kits are low strength; even so, applying them over irritated skin or active melasma can make things worse.
