Why a protocol and not a treatment

Melasma is not an ordinary dark patch: it is skin that overproduces pigment and responds to several triggers at once. Lightening it with a cream and changing nothing else is the recipe for having it back as soon as summer arrives.

Melasma 360 is how this clinic works all four fronts in parallel.

The four fronts

  • 1. The pigment. A prescription topical regimen, matched to your skin and rotated when it needs to be.
  • 2. Sun and light. Real photoprotection: mineral, tinted, reapplied. Visible light and screen light count too — and that is the part almost nobody covers.
  • 3. Inflammation and blood vessels. In-office procedures — peel, laser or light depending on the case — with conservative settings, because melasma punishes excess.
  • 4. Hormones and metabolism. Birth control, pregnancy, thyroid. Here that evaluation happens in the same clinic.

What to expect

Melasma is controlled, not cured. With the full protocol the pigmentation lightens considerably and, above all, stops getting worse every season.

It is a long treatment, with active and maintenance phases. Control photographs are taken because progress is gradual and memory doesn't register it.

🔴 What is not done: promising it will disappear, or using aggressive lasers to show fast results. In melasma, excess energy makes it worse — and that rebound is harder to treat than the original patch.

Melasma is the pigmentation that comes back most often, and almost always for the same reason: the pigment was treated and the sun, the inflammation and the hormones were left untouched. That is why the protocol is called 360.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take?

Months. The first signs show in weeks, but real control is long-term.

Will it go away for good?

No. It is a chronic condition that is managed; maintenance and sun protection are permanent.

Can I do this while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Part of the protocol is adjusted: some actives are not used. It is adapted to where you are.

Is it worth it if I've already tried creams?

It is exactly the case this exists for. Creams alone cover one front out of four.
